OpenVPN configuration for Windows 7 x64
OpenVPN is a great low cost solution for remote connection. I’m new to Windows 7, so I add a bit of trouble to configure it out. Here’s a little how-to:
- Download the last development solution from openvpn.net
- Right-click on the downloaded file and set it to run in administrator mode.
- Once installed, do same thing for the openvpn-gui.exe in OpenVPN bin folder.
- Be sure to install the TAP-Win32 device.
Troubles incounters with old versions:
- Unable to use TAP-Win32 device
- Connexion error due to openvpn-gui.exe (must be run an administrator)
- –remote-cert-tls command not found (old version of openvpn)
